Arizona State Catholic Daughters of the Americas
Winter 2007 Newsletter

      My Dear Sisters in Christ,

We are fast approaching the end of 2007. Soon the sweet aroma of special baked foods we
traditionally prepare to share with family and friends will consume our homes.

As we enter the Holiest of Seasons, and await the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. Let us share all our energy with Unity and Charity. Pictures showing strings of lights remind us that Christ is the "Light of the World."  December is the month of our Advent and Christmas Seasons. Cards we receive proclaim Peace on Earth and acknowledges that the only Peace on Earth will come from Christ the King.

Let us pray for the unfortunate. Let us pray for the victims of War. Let us not forget prayers for members of our Armed Forces who are in harms way. Let us not forget our Catholic Daughter sisters an their families and friends who are sick and infirmed. Let us remember and pray for the souls of our beloved sisters who have been called home by our Father. Only the sharing of our Love for Mankind will allow us to live our Mission Statement.

I would like to express to each and everyone of you, my most sincere appreciation for all you do, as members of your respective courts, to promote projects which benefit our families, our parish communities, the aged, our youth and the less fortunate. We are truly blessed to have women who give to our Lord so unselfishly their time and effort. On behalf of the State Board and myself, Thanks for a "Job well done."

My most sincere, thanks to Susan, Bernadette, Maureen, and Marlyn, Fr. Abran Tadeo, for all they do as members of the State Board, I wish ALL and your families, a most joyous and Holy Christmas a Prosperous New Year, filled with Peace, Hope, Love and good Health.

Seasons Greetings and Gods Blessing

Delma Araiza, State Regent

National Convention, 2008
January 22, 2008 will be the 36th Anniversary of Roe vs Wade, the Supreme Court Decision that Legalized abortion. During these 36 years an estimated 40 million babies have been aborted. We must do what we can, to overturn this decision and guarantee the sanctity of life.

Arizona State Catholic Daughters of the Americas, along with the Phoenix Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and other organizations are promoting prayer in our parish communities with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in reparation for the sin of abortion on Tuesday, January 22, 2008

You are asked to sponsor a Holy Hour at your Parish and encourage participation at other parishes, for healing those affected by abortions and for conversion of those who promote abortion.

When Pope John Paul II visited Denver, he stated,
"Abortion is the scourge of America." Referring to
abortion he said " America is in danger of losing
their soul." We are a world leader and are we are
setting terrible examples. The Pope repeatedly warned
of the gravity of this sin.

He said, "America, defend life so that you may live in peace
and harmony. Woe to you if you do not succeed in defending life."

The observance of January 22 (or January 23, when the 22nd falls on a Sunday) as a
"particular day of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person committed
through acts of abortion, and of prayer for the full restoration of the legal guarantee of
the right to life" has become particular law for all dioceses of the United States of
America,
